Companies around the world felt the dramatic shift as governments, stock exchanges, and investors challenged companies to examine and report the age, skills, ethnic and gender diversity in their boardrooms. The approach of each country varies, but the message is the same: Diversity is critical for sustainability, innovation, performance, and risk management. True leadership is finding ways to harness the power of diverse backgrounds, diverse talent, as well as the diversity of mind. Team members need to play a role as well. They need to know how the companies can best utilize their talents and they need to find their own unique voices.

Tracy Gopal (Keynote speaker)
The speaker for this event will be Tracy Gopal, CFA, Founder of Third Arrow Strategies, a corporate governance focused on Japan. She is also the founder of the Japan Board Diversity Network, a global group of senior board directors and leaders who are dedicated to board excellence. While currently an impact entrepreneur focused on harnessing the power of board diversity for Japan’s economic future, Tracy spent the first 20 years of her career in corporate finance (M&A, Restructuring, Valuation) and corporate governance roles with major firms including EY, GCA, and ISS. Ms. Gopal believes in the power of developing your unique talents through education, teamwork, exploration, and networking. She also believes in continual growth through education and training. Ms. Gopal has an MBA from Duke University and received her BA in economics from the University of Michigan. She is also a certified 500-hour yoga teacher dedicated to maintaining a strong body and mind.
Tomoya Nakamura (Dialogue Partner)

Mr. Tomoya Nakamura serves as President of GLOBIS USA, Inc.
He started his professional career at Marubeni Corporation, reorganized an invested company at Advantage Partners (Buyout VC Firm), and was the Senior Managing Director of Sun-Life Corporation (JASDAQ 7040). At Sun-Life he introduced a progressive ESOP for more than 250 employees including part-time workers.
He served as Dean of the English MBA Programs at GLOBIS University while also starting the GLOBIS global training business and continues to serve as main facilitator for various clients including Toyota Motor Corporation who has taught for many years. He primarily lectures on leadership, kokorozashi, and globalization.
Tomoya has practiced Aikido for 37 years and holds blackbelts (5 dans) in Aikido, Aiki-jujitsu, and Kankoji-ryu Aiki.
