Masayuki Ikegami, Former CEO, Everystar Co., Ltd. and Professor of Venture Business Planning, GLOBIS University.

The speaker for this seminar will be Mr. Masayuki Ikegami who is the former CEO of Everystar Co., Ltd., a DeNA and NTT Docomo joint venture. During his tenue, he grew the business to approximately USD 20 million in annual sales. Mr. Ikegami launched his own company, SAKURAS Co., Ltd. in 2015, where he provides professional consulting services for digital transformation of the entertainment industry.

Following the seminar, Mr. Ikegami will engage in a dialogue with Ms. Ashley Levin, Admission Advisor at GLOBIS USA. Originally from the Silicon Valley, with 8 years of living experience in Japan, Ms. Levin brings a unique perspective on the entertainment industry in both cultures.

Masayuki Ikegami (Speaker)

CEO, SAKURAS Co.

Masayuki Ikegami started his career as a consultant at A.T. Kearney, where he was engaged in a variety of consulting projects, including business portfolio management for a global CPG firm and a national energy company, mid-term strategy development for a media company, and business turnaround for a real estate developer.

After nearly five years of consulting experience, Mr. Ikegami took part in launching Everystar Co., Ltd., a DeNA and NTT Docomo joint venture. As CEO, he led the company to make approximately USD 20 million in annual sales.

In March of 2015, he launched his own company, SAKURAS Co., Ltd. Through SAKURAS, he leverages his ten years of experience in both the Japanese entertainment and technology industries to provide professional consulting services for digital transformation of the entertainment industry. He published Kaisha wo yamete nenshu ga agaruhito sagaruhito (Will your salary increase or decrease if you change your job?) through Shogakukan in 2016.

Currently, Mr. Ikegami teaches Venture Business Planning at GLOBIS University in Tokyo, Japan.

Ashley Levin (Dialogue Partner)

Admissions Advisor, GLOBIS USA, Inc.

Ms. Ashley Levin serves as an Admissions Advisor and Marketing Lead at GLOBIS USA. She began her Japan experience while studying at University of California Santa Barbara and participating in the EAP study abroad program.

After graduating with her BA in Asian Studies, she launched her career with the JET (Japan Exchange and Teaching) Programme as a high school teacher in Shizuoka, Japan. Later she moved to Tokyo to teach in private secondary education and universities in Tokyo, living in Japan for 8 years in total.

Returning to her hometown of the San Francisco Bay Area, she joined the newly launched GLOBIS USA hub campus. She uses her knowledge of both Japanese and US higher education to advise candidates looking to enter MBA programs with GLOBIS University.
